Houston Event Photobooth Expands Business with DNP’s DS40 Printer to Deliver Photobooths Across Houston
Concord, North Carolina – In 1997, when Steven David started his photography business, most of his work consisted of modeling photography and a few wedding ceremonies. But over the years he noticed more and more demand for event photography at events like golf tournaments, expositions, conferences and parties. His business, Houston Event Photobooth, has grown over the years and now employs six to help keep up with demand in the Houston, Texas area.
“What makes my business different is that we really prioritize speed, which can be difficult to achieve with event photography,” said Steven David, owner of Houston Event Photobooth. “Everything, from our photo booths, the hashtag printer and our projector screen is dedicated to providing guests with their photographs quickly, so that the fun doesn’t stop! They can instantly text or email their photographs, watch them projected on screens around the venue and get their printed copy to bring home, all in a matter of seconds.”
Steven currently uses DNP’s award-winning DS40 dye-sublimation printer. The DS40 is a compact, inexpensive, and powerful production printer that uses a high-resolution dye-sublimation process to produce professional-grade photos with impressive full-color details.
“Having a photographer or a photo booth at an event is supposed to enhance the event experience. Long lines can ruin the fun and really kill the party atmosphere,” he said. “What I noticed from using DNP printers is that everything moves along at a nice pace. The prints are quick and because the media holds about 400 prints per roll, there are minimal delays when switching out the roll. The front feed design also makes replacing the roll incredibly quick and straight-forward.”
Not only was Steven impressed with the speed of the printer, he also appreciates the versatility of the printer and the multiple print size options available. The DS40 can print full bleed 4×6”, 6×8”, and 5×7” high quality images, as well as a multitude of photo strip options from its special perforated media derivatives. As an event photographer, he noted that this versatility was key to providing the client with the right printing solution for any event.
“Photo printing has become immensely popular in recent years and it looks set to continue as a popular event trend,” he said. “At events, people want a take away, they want to leave the event with something in their hands. Pictures get lost or deleted when they are on your phone or computer. With a print, you can tape it to the fridge, or put it on your desk where it can be enjoyed. I have some reluctant clients with small budgets, but I always recommend they offer printed pictures.”
“I have only been a DNP customer for the past six months and, I must say, the printers are awesome!” said David. “The previous brand I used was loud and it moved and jerked while printing. With the DNP printers, they are very quiet, easy to stack on top of one another and the dedicated software allows me to connect multiple printers and use them at all the same time.”
